LTFL strives to demonstrate the importance of humility, service and love. Spiritual – As an all volunteer organization, LTFL recognizes the importance of service to others.Growth in these areas is crucial to success in football and in life. ![]() Social – Football is the ultimate team sport and provides a wonderful platform to teach personal responsibility, respect, character and unity.We also celebrate academic achievement, recognizing students for effort and achievement in the classroom. LTFL requires all players to provide their teachers with contact information for coaches and LTFL President. Our coaches encourage players to get homework done before practice and to do their best in school. Academic – Every one of our athletes is a student-athlete.Win or lose they gain positive, lifelong memories that only football can offer. The kids play hard, have fun and strive to win Super Bowls. Regardless of where they begin, our athletes are challenged to improve on every level including: knowledge of the game, physical conditioning, personal discipline, team work and sportsmanship. Our coaches teach fundamentals and prioritize player safety at all times. Athletic – LTFL is a recreational league, and for most kids it’s their first football experience.We partner closely with Lawrence North and Lawrence Central high school football as well as the Lawrence Parks department and local sponsors to maintain the highest quality programs and facilities possible. Who: LTFL is a volunteer-run organization. All star teams play in well organized tournaments against other area teams. At the conclusion of each recreational season, all star teams are formed from rec. When: The LTFL recreational season runs from late July through October. LTFL also fields a travel team (Jr Bearcats) at the 5 th-6 th grade level, and offers a junior cheerleading program. ![]() How: The league is organized into three divisions: 1 st-2 nd grade (Jr Tackle), 3 rd-4 th grade and 5 th-6 th. Where: All practices and games are played at Eugene Burns Park on 56 th Street near Fort Ben. What: LTFL is a recreational, tackle football league open to kids from first through sixth grades. ![]()
